Learning from Lived Experience

A guide to the
Commissioner’s
approach to regulation
has been released.

The Victims’ Charter Act has been reviewed and the report is now available for review.

The Victorian Victims of Crime Commissioner promotes the fair treatment of victims in the justice system.

This includes victims’ experiences with police, the criminal justice system, and victims’ services agencies. The Commissioner also provides advice to government on issues affecting victims of crime and holds agencies to account when they don’t treat victims fairly.

Reporting mistreatment

If you have become a victim of crime and feel you have been mistreated by police, a prosecuting agency or a victims’ service, you can contact the Victims of Crime Commissioner’s Office.
